My DW is susceptible to motion so we always book low in the middle and have been in that type of mini more than a dozen times and never felt being exposed was a problem. In fact one time when the DW locked me out on the balcony when she left the room (her habit is to lock up as leaving), I was able to yell up to our MDR table mates to have them get my room steward to come by our room.
