Help with Ft. Lauderdale Hotel

We are cruising out of Ft. Lauderdale on Nov. 2nd.  Going down early to visit friends in Orlando then driving to Lauderdale.  There must be something going on because so many hotels are already booked, ex.  the Hilton at the Marina, Embassy Suites, Homewood Suites and Hyatt Place are all booked

Has anyone stayed at either the Hampton Inn on 12th Avenue or the Springhill Suites?   I need to return a car at Hertz and would like to be able to walk to a restaurant and stores.

Ft Lauderdale Boat Show is that week. Hotels near the Convention Center and Bahia Mar yacht basin book up immediately upon release. 

 

That Hampton Inn should be adequate for one night. Several fast food outlets in the plaza just to the east, plus a sports bar and Thai place that both have decent reviews.

 

If you are considering the Springhill Suites at I-95 & Stirling Rd (legal address: 151 SW 18 Ct, Dania Beach) there are even more tourist trappings nearby. Several options for sit down dining a brisk 10 min or so walk away, and one of the last K-Marts in the area in Oakwood Plaza with an aisle of beach sundries and inexpensive wine right at the front.

If you can,  get a ticket and go to the boat show.  It's the best party in town!

Riverside Hotel is always a great choice as well.  Plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance.
