navybankerteacher Posted May 26, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2019 Greenwich is very close to central London, but aside from the Observatory there is little there. For a visit of a few days, I would far prefer to be near the many attractions in London and then get out to Greenwich on embarkation day.

Thanks If you are flying to London I would suggest you take the Piccadilly Line underground direct from Heathrow to Gloucester Road - least expensive, quick way to town. There are lots of hotels on Cromwell Road - just a minute or so away from the station. We’ve stayed at Holiday Inn (inexpensive) and Radisson Edwardian (reasonable and very comfortable). That underground station is on Piccadilly, Central and District lines - making it easy to get anywhere in London at low cost. Lots of restaurants in the area also. On embarkation day, I’d just take a taxi.
