Royal Palms or Calico Jacks?

We haven’t been to Grand Cayman in several years. On previous trips we headed to Sea Grape beach but I haven’t seen any recommendations for that area in several years. We are considering Royal Palms or Calico Jacks and would love input on either or both of these locations. We will be going at the end of September. Thanks!

Sea Grape is now the home of the Kimpton Seafire Resort, which doesn't really allow day visitors to use their facilities.

 

What is the makeup of your travel party?  I'd recommend Royal Palms for a group of all adults, due to their adults-only pool and slightly more adult vibe, or for seniors since it's a little more accessible for unsteady feet.  Calico Jacks/Public Beach is great for families with children, since there's a playground and more room to run around.
