mrsfuzzmo Posted November 5, 2008 #51 Share Posted November 5, 2008 We sailed on the Oceanbreeze out of Aruba on a fantastic itinerary that included Cartegena, Curacao, Canal and the San Blas Islands. It was a fantastic ship with fantastic crew! We were 3 sisters in our early 20s having a ball. The crew members we remember, Paul and Craig (Casino staff, England), Mario Ferrrera (entertainer, juggler), Esau McKenzie and Nicholas (Esau was Bahamian I think, and Nicholas was perhaps Trinidadian), they were an awesome musical duo that played out on the pool deck. We also had a great time with Bert Stratton the Piano Man. We had one of the most exciting and entertaining cruises of our lives back in the early 1990s. Anyone remember any of these people and where they may be today?
Parrot Mom Posted November 15, 2008 #52 Share Posted November 15, 2008 We were passengers on the Royal when it started from Boston to Bermuda.. and sadly the week it was turned over to NCL...No, it didn't have ice skating rinks, rock climbing walls, but had a great, great heart.. Oh yes.. I remember Dave from the other line...the Sea and the Ocean Breeze.. one of the great experiences was going to the San Blas Islands before it was 'discovered' When I asked the Captain why they were getting rid of the NCLMajesty. he said.. it's like cars.. everybody wants newer and bigger...WHO NEEDS A LAWN ON A SHIP..lol
petagil Posted May 13, 2010 #53 Share Posted May 13, 2010 Hello Marycruiser7 and everybody, I just read some of you worked on the OceanBreezer and I would like to ask if you met cruise director Gil Sevil. As far as I know, he was working on OceanBreeze in 1996 (Nassau, Port Lucaya) and on Premier-Oceanic2 in 1998 I think. I don't know where we has worked after that, nor his itinerary. I hope someone knows what he is doing now and how can I contact him (e-mail, telephone, city...) I would be really grateful! Saw that you are looking for Gil Sevil, just to let you know that he is retired and living in Spain.

dotshub Posted May 14, 2010 #55 Share Posted May 14, 2010 We were on the Seabreeze in the summer of 1995. Anyone know of a Harvey on the CD staff? Harvey Zalt, I think, from England maybe? He really made our cruise special.
oleprof2308 Posted November 23, 2010 #56 Share Posted November 23, 2010 SeaBreeze, 1999: I enjoyed reading the posts on this thread. My wife and I made our first cruise on the SeaBreeze and we thought it was really terrific and it was. The food was excellent and the crew were the best. I wish today's cruise lines could capture some of the hospitality that the crew had on that ship, nothing like it today. I have been looking for a really good picture of the SeaBreeze that I can capture off the internet, we are putting together an album of our cruises. I was having such a good time that I didn't take a really good photo of the ship. I would appreciate it if anyone has it to email it to me at oleprof@bellsouth.net. By the way, Libby and Jack from SC, we will be on the Grand with you on Dec. 6. Hope to see you. Best wishes to all Tom
Deedleann Posted December 28, 2010 #57 Share Posted December 28, 2010 Ill have to go home and pull my pictures out from the SeaBreeze. I should have several of the ship. If I can scan them Ill post them here as soon as Im able. I remember my first cruise fondly. My parents gave me a cruise for as a graduation present. My parents sailed on SeaBreeze twice and never cruised again. They are going with my husband and I in May on their first cruise since then. I hope it lives up to their expectations as the service on the SeaBreeze was phenomenal. Oh the midnight buffets......to die for! Thank you all for making our cruises so special. mdh715 Posted March 12, 2011 #58 Share Posted March 12, 2011 My family and I cruised on Dolphin many times. We became friends with one of the staff members. His name was Harvey Zaltsyrer. Over the years, we have lost touch with him. Does anyone know his whereabouts?
sailemcruz Posted August 11, 2011 #59 Share Posted August 11, 2011 I know this is probably a long time since posts, but I just saw this and wanted to chime in.. I was an asst Purser on the SS DOLPHIN IV in 1990-1991. I often think about the other crew members and what ever happened to them.. :) In fact I worked in the reservations department before going on board, Dolphin was my first cruise and my High School Dream come true!! Bonnie J. Posted August 11, 2011 #60 Share Posted August 11, 2011 We LOVED the Dolphin and Dolphin cruise line! Our 1st cruise in 1884 was on the Dolphin. We were on her about 10 times. But we also loved the Seabreeze and OceanBreeze. WE had dinner with 3 different Captains on board the Dolphin. I only can find one card. The captain was Dimitrios Mylonas. His resident phone number was 305-358-2111 or 800-222-1003. (Nowadays the numbers and addresses are Carnivals.) We spent the Milenium New Years cruise at a table with Papi Pena's wife on the Dolphin. He was the pianist in the dining room. His personal card had his address as 128E. Marion Lane #2, Cocoa beach. FL 32931. His phone number was 321-783-4674. Maybe they can help you. It was very sad to watch the SeaBreeze sink on our local news. She sank off the VA-NC coast and I watched the Coast Guard pull a crew member up by the pool I had been swiming in the year before. We had been on her 5 times. RWT Posted July 26, 2012 #64 Share Posted July 26, 2012 We sailed on the SeaBreeze in April (9-16), 2000, out of Ft Lauderdale. We went with a group of folks from the Charleston Air Force Base. Had a great time but what a trip. We lost a boiler, ran aground in Grand Caymen, was 10 hours late returning. The cruise director was Lynda Konarski. She was really funny. After losing a boiler, during one of the shows, she joked that turtles were passing us. The Captain was Karstien Hansen. Although an old ship, she looked like a ship. We've just come from RCI Allure, fantastic in itself, but we really had a good time on SeaBreeze. One of the girls in the show was from Mississippi and knew of a little know shindig, The Nashoba County Fair. I sadly remember the day I turned on the news and watched a live broadcast of the rescue of the crew as she sank. Thanks for letting me but in but came across this after my wife pulled the album on the cruise and was daydreaming.
pahteeh Posted October 24, 2012 #65 Share Posted October 24, 2012 Hi, I'm not sure if anyone is still viewing or monitoring this thread, but does anybody remember an assistant Maitre D' named Oliver (or maybe it was spelled "Olivier")? He was from France; met him when I went on a Dolphin cruise in May of 1994. Don't remember his last name...
CalicoCDC Posted August 9, 2013 #66 Share Posted August 9, 2013 Hi Wendy, It's Carol! I just found this site. I've often thought of everyone from the Dolphin. I hope you're doing well. Send me an email! CalicoCDC@gmail.com Have you spoken to anyone else? I haven't talked to Zeljko (Jerry) in years. I would love to contact people we worked with. That was quite the tiring experience but one I wouldn't change for anything. It was fun and a great learning experience for me. My strangest experience was when I went to the (substitute) doctor's office with you! I hope you are well and happy!
