Wayfairers Posted September 13, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2019 Has anyone taken the ferry from Warnemunde to Rostock recently? I found an old post from 2008, but not since then. I would like to take the ferry to Rostock, explore that town and the train back to Warnemunde and explore Warnemunde. We are in port 7am to 10pm so we have a long day and the evening...plenty of time. We aren’t interested in going to Berlin as we will be spending 4 days there after we finish the cruise. Looks like the ferry terminal is to the right of the cruise terminal and from what I’ve read they are cash only on the ferry. Is that still true? Where does the ferry drop you in Rostock? I can find where the ferry leaves Warnemunde and goes to Hohe Dune on google maps, but a route from Hohe Dune or from Warnemunde to Rostock isn’t shown. trosebery Posted September 14, 2019 #2 Share Posted September 14, 2019 I was just in Warnemunde/Rostock and used the Warnemunde-Hohe Dune public transit ferry, and I can tell you that that is not the ferry you want -- it just goes back and forth across the Warnow. However, I can also tell you that it was not the only ferry at the ferry dock beside the cruise port. I think the other one was this one, which may be what you were looking for? http://blaue-flotte.de/Startseite (not a public ferry)
