Beach Life 1 Posted October 21, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 21, 2019 Question about NCL Casino Tiers: If I was a Pearl Tier on my last cruise, January 2019, will I still be Pearl on my next cruise, February 2020? Will I also receive $100 OBC for Pearl? Do you lose your tier status after a certain amount of time. For example, If I don't cruise again for two years, does everything start over? Sand and Seas Posted October 21, 2019 #2 Share Posted October 21, 2019 It depends on when you actually earned those points that made you Pearl. NCL CAS Tier qualifying year is from April 1st to March 31st. All points earned during that period count towards your Tier for the following year (until March 31st.) From their webpage: *The annual tier evaluation period is April 1 - March 31. Tier levels are based on points earned within the 12-month evaluation period. For purposes of tier evaluation, all members will start with zero points on April 1st. Points earned April 1 - March 31 will determine the tier level for the subsequent year. Tier levels may be upgraded during the year based on point earnings. Tier levels are re-evaluated on an annual basis. Bonus and adjusted points are not considered in tier evaluation. You can send an email to CAS and ask what your status is and what it will be on your February cruise. I've sent them a couple of emails with similar questions and they are good to answer in a couple of days. Sand and Seas Posted October 22, 2019 #4 Share Posted October 22, 2019 Happy to help! I've learned a lot here on CruiseCritic from others. Good to share😊 Forgot to add, I've found that they add my Tier OBC early on during the cruise to my onboard account. They should deliver an envelope from CAS to your cabin that first day. In it will be players cards for you and also a notice that you have OBC from the Casino. If you don't get that and you have verified that you qualify, stop by the Host desk in the casino to check. Also, when I went from Sapphire ($200 per cruise) to Ruby ($400 per cruise), it didn't seem to diminish what they would comp me beyond that. The last night of the cruise make sure you check in with the Host Desk to see what they can do for you. Good Luck & have a great Cruise!
Beach Life 1 Posted October 22, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted October 22, 2019 Yes, thank you. It had been some time since we had cruised, and the Host told us, do not cash in your points on your card for cash, wait until the last night and go to the desk, you will get so much more in OBC/comps then the cash points on your card. On our cruise, last January, on the Escape, I was surprised. I checked our account on the last night, and the OBC/comps were already there. I went to the Host Desk, and they told me they sometimes do it automatically, For some reason, it's that evaluation period that confuses me, lol. Thanks for all your info. If you have a cruise planned, hope you have a wonderful time.
