MarcyLondon Posted October 27, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 27, 2019 (edited) Can anyone recommend a tour company that could meet us where we dock and take us over to Capri/Blue Grotto for a day tour Edited October 27, 2019 by MarcyLondon
euro cruiser Posted October 27, 2019 #2 Share Posted October 27, 2019 (edited) Are you looking for a boat ride around the island or a land tour? If the later, these are two different licenses in Italy. You can hire a private boat operator to take you over and cruise around but if you want to land and tour you'll need a licensed tour guide. There are plenty of public ferries from Amalfi to Capri in season, it would be far less expensive to simply take one of them over and meet up with a guide on the island. Also, are you sure you know where you will be porting? Many cruise line advertise the Amalfi Coast but actually port in Naples or Sorrento. Smaller ships can tender into Sorrento or Amalfi. MarcyLondon Posted October 28, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted October 28, 2019 Thank you. We are on a small ship. I've asked my cruise operator to find out where we will tender. We are looking for a licensed tour guide not a boat ride

Next question, do you want the guide to meet you where you port and take the ferry over to Capri with you, or meet you at the port in Capri? Here is one to start with, you can go through the options and ask them for a quote: https://www.capritourinformation.com/private-capri-tour/ Edited October 29, 2019 by euro cruiser
MarcyLondon Posted October 29, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted October 29, 2019 Thank you euro cruiser. Yes, we would prefer a guide to meet us where we tender and take us over to Capri on a ferry. I will look at the info link you posted
euro cruiser Posted October 29, 2019 #6 Share Posted October 29, 2019 That shouldn't be a problem. The guide license is issue at the regional level so a guide on the mainland is thoroughly qualified to work on the island.
