San Diego embarkation

I've made several searches and read the CC basic page on San Diego embarkation.  I am trying to find out how early we can check our luggage with the porters.  We are the only ship listed as being in port on 6 Dec (HAL Rotterdam).  We get into SAN at 0835 on 6 Dec and wanted to drop our luggage and head over to the USS Midway.  We don't need to check in until later but don't want to drag our luggage around.  Any advice would be appreciated.

By the time you claim bags and get to the port, it will be close to 9:30. You should able to drop bags then. Midway doesn't open until 10am anyway, and it is very close.
