jo lou Posted November 25, 2019 #1 Share Posted November 25, 2019 We are considering the above departing on 17 January 2020. Just wondered what the weather might be like cruising around the Canaries whilst at sea. I know it is impossible to be precise, as the weather at sea or on land is very unpredictable, as we all know, However your experience(s) when you have cruised around the Canaries in January would be most welcome. Many thanks! 😊
FuzzyDuckUK Posted November 29, 2019 #2 Share Posted November 29, 2019 Just returned today from this cruise and the weather was warm and sunny and the sea condition much better than we did the Colourful Coats cruise in April.
jo lou Posted January 13, 2020 Author #3 Share Posted January 13, 2020 Hi...we are off on our cruise on Friday. Any recommendations on the various ports of call would be much appreciated. We don’t do the ‘ships’ trips. Many thanks 😀😀
FuzzyDuckUK Posted January 13, 2020 #4 Share Posted January 13, 2020 This is what we have done: Gran Canaria - This time we spent a few hours in Maspalomas. La Gomera - Not very much around the port but on the other hand it is a short stay, just wandered around the town. Maderia - Our favourite destination of the cruise, walk to the cable car. At the top there are some lovely gardens. Take the toboggan ride if you dare! Lanzarote - Timanfaya National Park is stunning Fuertaventura - Visted the dunes at the north of the island Enjoy! marylizcat Posted January 15, 2020 #7 Share Posted January 15, 2020 Just wanted to add that there is nothing ‘daring’ about the toboggan ride in Madeira! Very tame indeed. But worth doing anyway. You end up in the middle of nowhere because these days they don’t go the whole way. So you need to get a taxi from the end point either back to the town centre or the ship. Or walk down if you have the energy.
