Miami and Jet Skis

Ok, we are coming to Miami in August, we are looking to stay 2 days ahead and one day after. We are a family of 5. I am looking for a place on the beach, but near the port? Is this possible. I would like a hotel that has a beach right off the property, so I can sit in a chair and the kids can play. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also if I am using priceline what area would this be and how many stars?

South Beach is the closest beach to the Port of Miami, it's 10-15 minutes away.

 

If you're going to try Priceline or Hotwire I wouldn't go less than 4-stars, many of their 3-star hotels are not so nice.
