Cabin still not allocated

In the past, P & O have provided cabin details and luggage tags 5 weeks prior to departure (on saver fares).  However, for our cruise departing at the beginning of February, I am still getting the message "Luggage tags are not available because your cabin has not been assigned".  Has anyone else experienced this and when can we realistically expect our cabin to be assigned?  Many thanks.

People in this situation always get a bit concerned which is understandable.  If you have not yet been given a cabin number you may be under consideration for allocating to a higher grade and they want to sort everybody out before a final decision.  You may well get the cabin on the last couple of days prior to embarkation and be able to print out labels.  In a worst case scenario you may arrive quayside without knowing your cabin number and you would just have to put labels on with your name stating cabin number unknown.  They put these bags in a special place and can retrieve them quickly once on board.  You will definitely know your cabin number when you get your cruise card as it is programmed to open the cabin door and they tell you which one. The most likely outcome is being advised your cabin before the final week.

So long as the details of the cruise are put onto the cases plus your names and that your cabin number was not known at the time you first board the plane the bags will be put on the ship.  You get cruise cards quayside and board by now knowing your cabin as the cruise card relates to a cabin.  Explain at reception as soon as you get onto the ship that you cases have been loaded cabin number unknown and they will be found.  Almost everybody gets advised their cabin number at least in the final week prior to departure so it almost never comes to the foregoing.
