Google maps is usually pretty good at answering this type of question: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/St+Petersburg,+Russia/Moscow,+Russia/@57.8251866,31.7690847,7z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x4696378cc74a65ed:0x6dc7673fab848eff!2m2!1d30.3350986!2d59.9342802!1m5!1m1!1s0x46b54afc73d4b0c9:0x3d44d6cc5757cf4c!2m2!1d37.6172999!2d55.755826!3e3!5m1!1e1

It says 4 hours on the train (BTW, it is an 8-hour drive one way) -- plus time to get you to the station in plenty of time to board the train before it leaves. IMHO, figure 10-10.5 hours spent dealing with the train (since Viking calculates tour time from the time you depart the dock until you return to the dock). That gives you 6.5-7 hours for lunch and actually seeing the sights in Moscow.
