I am leaving on the Sovereign next week with a couple days pre cruise. I have passports, sunscreen, chip clips for those nasty shower curtains, duct tape (wish I knew what for), clock, completed cruise documents, sweater, jacket (supposed to be cool at sailaway):mad: and lots of clothes and items I won't need. I will look at the clock and report whether it is working. Will check out the dueling pianos even tho the special ones are on another ship.:rolleyes: Thanks for all the hints. Anything else?

I keep reading on these baords, that you need a power strip...( I don't know what for, but appearently outlets are at a premium in these cabins):p

A power strip is the first thing I put in my luggage! There is only one outlet in the room for charging everything, plus with my girls we need curling irons, lighted mirrors, etc.

Duct tape can be a temp fix for things that break - like luggage. My friend used ours to remove lint from her black pants.

 

We bought bright yellow. You can also put it on your suitcases to make them easier to find.

Thanks. I always have an extension chord in my suitcase. Cruise ships have very few outlets.

I always take disinfectant wipes with me to use on the phone, remote, etc. Guess I am a bit of a germ-o-phobe!

You also need a pen and small battery operated clock ($5 at Target), there are none in the rooms.

1. A highlighter - for your daily Compass to keep track of what you want to do.

 

2. A pop up hamper for your dirty clothes.

 

3. A nightlight (If you're in an inside cabin)

I can only add zip lock bags, different sizes, they come in handy for many different things....have a great Cruise!

How about a shoe hanger (for shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, etc) or a large make-up bag that hangs on the hook of the bathroom door. Saved a lot of counter space for us!!! Enjoy!! :)

Duct will work if your suitcase gets ripped or zipper breaks. Or band aid, etc. :)

 

I slapped a bright orange piece of duct tape on the handle and bottom of our black luggage to help us identify it at the airport.

Thanks guys. I think I have it all, even loose fitting pants for the end so I don't have to lay on the bed to zip my pants. Carol, I have a battery operated clock with extra batteries. Used a wind up once and the "wind up" fell off the first day. Carol, you didn't need a clock on your cruise did you cause you never slept. I did find a neat thing at Target in the travel section. it is a flat package of different size zip loc bags. Also, my meds are in the original bottle-bummer- instead of the daily dosage.

Guys, I just stumbled across this thread, and these are such great tips! My cruise is in about 30 days. What a wonderful idea about the power strip! I had completely forgotten how few outlets there were on my first (and only) cruise last year.

I am about to add winter coat. Sailaway is going to be in the 40's at Port Canaveral if we can believe the weatherman....HA the cold forecast makes it so hard to pack for.
