How is the scuba diving in Costa Maya?

Costa Maya diving really depends on the winds. There isn't any real break in the coastline to shelter the coast if the winds are blowing up from the southeast, (bad) due south, worse, or from the southwest, (not as bad), north or no winds, (perfect). It really depends on the day you dive there, especially on a cruise ship. You have to remember, Costa Maya is a created port with no natural harbor, on an exposed coastline. You can have perfect days, and not so perfect days. Divers should plan accordingly, when there arrive there. It's also been my experience that the dive operations there can be great to absolutely primative! Check, before you book!;)
