irishgirl Posted April 30, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 30, 2004 Oh, please no!!! I have had Steve Cassel on 3 different cruises. He was fun the first time, by the 3rd time, I was tired of him. I want someone new. bigmacfan Posted April 30, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted April 30, 2004 Isn't Steve generally a "fill in" CD? Do you all think he will be permanent? I had him last year, on the Conquest, when Corey was on vacation. I think I am just not meant to sail with Corey...I hear how WONDERFUL he is, but when I am on the Conquest...he is on vacation. I book the Conquest again....and he leaves. So Kristi....can you confirm or deny that it is the Steve-mister? I actually enjoyed Steve more than other CDs (especially Brett somebody I had the year before on Inspiration) as he was lighthearted and not as full of himself as others have been. sanermae Posted May 1, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 1, 2004 Totally agree with you about Steve! He was such a welcome change from some of the others. We had Brett 2 years in a row--quite full of himself--very entertaining magic act but Steve was just so down to earth--kinda goofy--but sorta reminded us of Kramer on Seinfield--who wouldn't love a guy like that in their lives from time to time??? My dh and I would sail with Steve anytime--he was just refreshing!

rpsinnj Posted May 1, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 1, 2004 usually a cruise director contract now days will run about 4 months on a ship and then 2 months off some run a little longer, there is no such thing as a perment ship for a cd, john heald stayed on triumph and corey on conquest at there request and there power to be... janey829 Posted May 3, 2004 #10 Share Posted May 3, 2004 Where did Corey go? He didn't leave Carnival, did he? We had him on the Victory back in 2001, and he was great!

MS QUEEN Posted May 3, 2004 #11 Share Posted May 3, 2004 All of you are wrong....I took the job just a few minutes ago..Each cruise is going to be a big hair 80's band theme and if you are really nice to me I'll let you rub Brett Michael's leather pants and run your fingers through his beautiful blonde hair..but that's as far as it can go. I can't wait...gonna be a rockin' good time! bamadeedee Posted May 4, 2004 #12 Share Posted May 4, 2004 Corey Schmidt was awesome. We had him on Conquest last June. He did mention that he was going to leave the Conquest and take another new ship at the end of 2003...I don't remember which one it was, but it was with Carnival. jedgar Posted May 4, 2004 #13 Share Posted May 4, 2004 Cory Schmidt is not going to another Carnival ship. He has taken a job in one of the clubs in Reno, Nevada. Not to long ago he posted a notice on this board (thru Host Kristi) stating such.
GroupCruiser Posted May 4, 2004 #14 Share Posted May 4, 2004 It was Lake Tahoe, not Reno. He retired from Carnival.

Cruising89143 Posted May 5, 2004 #16 Share Posted May 5, 2004 Steve Cassel. Now there is a name that I remember. I have been on four ships with him as CD. I think that I will pass. A nice guy and a little quirky but his routine got old as he never changed.
