JUST BACK FROM PRIDE TAKING QUESTIONS

SIEBELS

I also recommend Davids, It was our second time there and the food was just as good if not better than the first. The chef is always sending out little extra treats to try and the deserts are wonderful. I enjoy listening to the music while dining also. I would go straight upstairs to Davids as soon as you settle in your room that way you may be able to choos where you want to sit. We did that the first time and we were seated where we requested, this time we called and we had a nice seat by the window but couldn't see the entertainers. There is also a balcony which offers great views, but you have to keep walking up and down stairs to dance. You will really enjoy the atmosphere and the food!I wish I was going again!

Drush and Polina, I will be on the 5/16 sailing too! I haven't seen anyone else yet on that sailing so I am glad to know I won't be all alone. icon_smile.gif

NEWS FLASH: I found out today that on the 16th they are doing some sort of major immigration thing with the crew and we should not arrive early. I have Skipper's Club early boarding but they said no one is getting on before 1:30. So that's when I am planning to arrive.

I hope this information helps you both.

Thanks for the tip! Sharks, I was really hoping to be onboard by 1 PM icon_frown.gif I think we'll plan on being there around 11-11:30 or so and will see what happens then. We want to get the check in out of the way. If we have to wait for a little while afterwards to board I believe there are places to sit down and relax, or we can tour the QM2.

Is our sailing sold out? There were hardly any cabins available a few days ago. Only one week left!!! Can't wait icon_biggrin.gif

I think it's completely sold out. I got my assignment on Monday and called to find out if there was anything available just a wee bit further back. I don't mind being forward, I like it, but this ship is really LOOOOONG and I am walking with a cane, so I wanted to try to get something a little bit more midships. There was nothing, nada, zilch. The representative wanted to help me but she couldn't.

On the plus side this cabin has a longer balcony, so I will have a nice time relaxing outside.

Where are you (what cabin?) and when can we meet?

We are in 4110 on Main deck (obstructed view). Never been on Pride before, would have no idea where to meet. Any ideas?

BTW, there is a post on the Roll Call board. Maybe more people will respond to it.

Jana,

Where did you hear about the immigration situation? What time are you planning on arriving? We did a balcony guarantee so I don't know our cabin assignment yet.

One week and counting, we can hardly wait!

Thanks,

drush

Hi drush and Polina,

Someone from Carnival told me on Friday. I have no reason to suspect it isn't correct, but I also don't feel like standing around for hours so I'll take their word for it.

I have never been on Pride either and I didn't see a Pride 5/16 post in Roll-Call, which is why I was happy to see the two of you on that date.

We can look at the deck plans and arrange to meet ... somewhere?

I think I'll try to get there around 1-ish, get on board, unpack, (carry on only) and explore.

Jquart77- I was on the victory during the stanley cup final Colorado/NJ. The NBA playoffs were also going on. The sports bar had the NHL one night and the NBA the next. It was great - we love the game and would have hated to miss it.

Jana & Polina,

Jana thanks again for the boarding update. I think we will also plan on getting there around 1:00.

Let me know where you want to meet, maybe later Sunday afternoon or a drink before dinner.

Can hardly wait!

Polina, Debbie and Cruisinmommie...

I am going alone, so it makes me really happy to find buddies.

I've requested early dinner but it isn't confirmed.

Now, I am relating what was told to me by someone at Carnival re: the inspection. PLEASE don't get angry at me if boarding actually starts at 11:30!

Mommie, what cabin are you in?

Debbie, I don't have the funds to enjoy the casino on this trip so I want to thank you... waiting to see what cabin you get is almost as good as playing slots!

I can't find contact info for any of you so why don't you e-mail me here.

And yes, I am excited too, and starting to panic because I am not close to ready yet.

Jana, Polina, Cruisinmommie,

We have the late seating for dinner but will meet you in the Ivory Piano bar at 5:00. The only reason we may not be there is that we like to watch the ship sail away. Maybe we could set up an alternative time later Sunday or Monday.

Jana, I have taken many cruises by myself (I could never convince my husband to go but have finally shamed him into going) and really enjoyed them, very relaxing. It is however nice to meet other folks to hang out with.

If anyone wants to contact me my email address is darush@att.net.

Debbie, Jana, and cruisinmommie: I completely forgot about the sail-away, and we like to watch it too! We are scheduled to depart at 4, do you think the excitement will still be going on at 5?

Should we try to stick to 5 or just pick another day and/or time, what does everyone else think? It obviously would be much better if the time was convenient for everyone. LOL, this is not supposed to be difficult.

Debbie, thank you for taking control and arranging a time/place for us.

I think 5pm is great, but my suggestion would be to have it at one of the bars outside, Venus or Poseidon, so we don't miss anything icon_cool.gif

Can we change it to Poseidon? Is that cool?

Sailaway from any port, and arriving INTO port, are my favorite parts of any cruise. The stuff in between is just fluff.

When is everyone leaving? Since we are in San Diego we'll be driving to port Sunday AM, so I'll check this board one more time before we take off for any last minute updates.

Went to Target yesterday to get some necessities for the cruise. Have to start packing soon. I love the anticipation!

We are driving in from the Palm Springs area. I have never been to the Queen Mary so even though we may not be able to board until 1:30 I think we will plan on arriving around 11:00.

See everyone on board!

It IS a small world, especially since I just moved here from North Carolina, just a month ago! I live just below the dog park and right above the train station.

Hahaha, when I read "check in one more time..." from you I laughed out loud. Just ONE? Hahahaha.
