Food on the Dawn

NCL led the way when they brought the Dawn to New York. She proved to be a very popular ship with many repeat cruisers. Hopefully, NCL will not squander the good will they built up with the Dawn during the past few years by letting the quality of their product decline. It would not require a major effort for NCL to return to the standards we appreciated in the past. At a time that other cruise lines are coming to New York in increasing numbers, NCL cannot afford to do any less.

We have cruised the Dawn 3-x's in the past 17 months.

This cruise marked a major change in the main restaurant menus.

In the past, there was one different entree in each main restaurant, each evening. All of the other entrees were the same but you had the option of checking each menu for your favorite entree.

Now, they all have the exact same menu.

Also, we found less appetizer, salad and soup selections on the menus.

While they eliminated the Presidents menu:( ...they still have the Caribbean menu:mad:.

We still found the quality of the food to be satisfactory.. just limited.

You will never starve on the Dawn.

Speciality restaurants (food & service) still very good:)

Service all around was excellent.

We didn't eat at the bbqs (as I refuse to wait on myself on vacation) but the food did look good. And, a good selection.

We tried Salsa's twice on the Dawn and once on the Jewel...can't seem to hit a good meal there though others love it.

DH eats just about anything but even he won't eat at Salsa's anymore.

We love the Dawn and staff and will certainly sail her again.

To all future cruisers...have a wonderful time, enjoy every moment:)

Do they have vegetarian Indian food in the army? Cool!

Now that makes me roll like a chineless tub during a force 14 blow in the Gulf of Alaska. :D

Hey MRE's are convenient as you can eat everything without worrying about getting extra grease on your food. I've seen guys in the engineroom eating sandwiches putting greasy, black fingerprints on the bread...they don't care! Like I said they'll eat anything.

Cheers,

Norman

p.s. Anyone that claims to starve on a cruise ship has serious issues. I wonder how many fast food franchises RCI will have on their G-class vessels!
