One watch out on the Grand Class (and up) boats is cabin location - a forward cabin (which I had) will have you walking for what seems like miles down endless beige corridors. Although nearly 50% bigger I actually felt the QM2 was more compact - and had things to do at the bow - unlike the Grand class, which apart from the Theatre & Casino has everything aft....

 

..... felt RCL's Brilliance of the Seas a more stylish ship than Golden Princess - and I do hope they get very quickly to the bottom of that blaze on the Star Princess.

 

Looks like a nice itinerary you've got - a couple of sea days to de-stress before doing the port thing....

I see what you mean Peter about forward cabins Grand Class. I think we are amidships. We were near the center elevators on QM2 and it never seemed that long of a walk to anything. My cabinmates found the ship "way too big" but it did not feel any bigger than a 90,000 ship. And yet when I was on the PP and Radisson Navigator (also 30,000) they did not feel small to me either once acclimated to the ship.

 

Oh those Radiance Class ships of RCCL! We were on Brillance's sister ship Serenade of the Seas which is probably my favorite ship in indoor style and decor.

 

I wonder how well the sprinkler system worked on the Star.

 

Always like two days at sea better. Returning, the days are broken up by Bermuda, which is fine also.

 

Am looking foward to the newest port - Grand Turk. The Grand Turk Cruise center is most impressive: http://www.grandturkcc.com/. Everything we need is right there: beach, pool with swim up bar….love those British Colonies.
