Seattle hotel - Belltown or Pioneer Square?

I currently have tentative reservations at two hotels - the Sound in Belltown and the Embassy Suites in Pioneer Square.  Anyone have any thoughts on which hotel/location is best?

Both are prettty new.  Embasssy Suites is very nice but Pioneer Square is not as convenient a location as belltown.  Sort of depends on what your plans are.  If this is just an overnite with cruise next day either will work well.  For sightseeing I'd like the Sound location better.

Thanks.  We are going in two days before, but truthfully I am more interested in being close to the cruise port, as long as the area is reasonably safe and there are a few decent places to eat nearby.

We're also doing two days prior to the cruise, and thought the Embassy Suites looked really good.  We haven't been before and are aware it's a bit farther to many places, but we were really glad that they were NOT pet friendly.  It seems that the majority of Seattle hotels (even the expensive ones allow pets, and they don't have specific floors or rooms for them...I called a couple).  Looks like a nice pool, too.  Guess we'll figure it out in a couple of days.
