  1. seattleexpress.com offers a shuttle to the dock, but otherwise Uber or taxi which should be about $60 or so, assuming pier 91, slightly less to 66
  2. yes of course that is what is proper. If you read what is happening you call and book and uber and a guy is sitting there and says he is 'your' uber. When the legit uber shows up your long gone. Calling or booking on the app on arrival is perfectly fine. Seattle drivers clash with independent 'hustlers' for cruise passenger fares (msn.com)
  3. current news report about illegal taxis and ubers operating near the ports in Seattle. You need to prearrange any uber or car service. Only taxis allow walk ups and if your offered a 'taxi' with no name, no meter and mostly no license you run a good chance of getting ripped off. Here is the report as an FYI Seattle drivers clash with independent 'hustlers' for cruise passenger fares (msn.com) If arriving at Pier 66 any cab is a flat $40-45 to Seatac but pier 91 cabs may or may not offer a 'flat rate' but many do which is ok if its about $55-60.
  4. just a FYI as I live in Seattle and there was a news report about lots of 'illegal' ubers and car services offering rides from cruise docks. Ubers and towncars ALL need to be prearranged and ubers normally come in to pick you up. Lots of illegal cars and 'ubers' ask you if you want a ride or say they are a taxi but then they dramatically raise the fare once you get to Seatac and hold your luggage hostage till you pay up. Too hard to enforce laws but do be careful. Best to prearrange a transfer and if you call for an uber make sure its the car you ordered. Too many unmarked cars saying they are a taxi or an uber so be careful.
  5. The transfers may be convenient but normally a private transfer is the same $ or less. Depends on how many in your party as a cab or uber charges per car vs pp as the ship transfers do.
  6. answer would depend on what you want to do or see before the cruise. If you want to sightsee downtown will always be better, but if you fly in and then get on the ship the next day, perhaps the airport will work for you. While downtown hotels don't offer shuttles they are available from the airport or airport hotels. Look at seattleexpress.com
  7. I really don't know but there are many and most wanted $15 for a chair but it wasn't busy. I just ate and enjoyed the sunshine. I was near the boats for the dive shop.
  8. just came home last week and went to the beach club next to Crazy lobster. I have to tell you that food and drink was very reasonable but the server did try to rip me off by adding tax and a service charge to my $24 bill. I just told her that in MX all taxes have to be included and I would tip myself. No problem, she reduced the $40 bill back to $24, but you need to know the rules. I also found a beach massage for $20 for 60 minutes which was way better than what the ship charged.

just came back and I definitely would skip this 'excursion'. First of all there were 4 or 5 ships in port and the 'tour' involved much more waiting around than an actual tour. There was a ton of waiting for the 'group' in front of you. They give you a tour of the trees in the parking lot, then you go up to a stupid insect exhibit. From there you wait patiently to cross a suspension bridge that takes forever as everyone wants their pix taken as they stand on the bridge. The mcaws were good but the jumping monkeys I could have lived without. You wait in long lines to take a pix with the mcaws then again for the monkeys. That was the whole 'tour'. The bus was late in picking us up and very late returning us to the ship. It was pretty much a total rip off with no time to explore. They charged $5 to put something in a locker and food and drink was way overpriced. Please skip this tour.
