hallasm Posted August 25, 2021 #1 Share Posted August 25, 2021 Last night, the Hurtigruten ship “MS Kong Harald” had engine stop in Hustadvika off the coast of Møre and Romsdal. The Norwegian rescue center HRS launched a rescue operation with four helicopters and several ships HRS later reported that “MS Kong Harald” again was sailing by its own engine, on its way to Molde. There were 236 passengers and a crew of 70 on board. The anchor handling vessel "KL Saltfjord" followed "MS Kong Harald" into the harbor. Hustadvika off the coast of Møre og Romsdal is a dreaded sea area. The cruise ship "Viking Sky" had major problems on the same stretch of sea two years ago. hallasm Posted August 25, 2021 Author #2 Share Posted August 25, 2021 “MS Kong Harald” is still in Molde Starboard main engine got a full stop Yesterday (August 24) at 8:29 pm. A worn control arm in the fuel system was the cause of the engine stop. The part that was worn is now replaced on both engines. The ship is scheduled to leave Molde at 6 pm this afternoon.
