Shoes for (boat to) Stingray City

I’ve read that we can’t wear water shoes in the water at Stingray City, but do you need shoes on the boat getting there? Does everyone just take off their shoes on the boat before getting in the water?

I’m aware Cayman isn’t allowing cruises through January. We’re scheduled after that.

Depends on the boat, I guess.  But even if you don’t need them actually on the boat, you’ll need footwear of some kind for the day, shoes or sandals or something on.

You’ll need to get from your cruise ship onto the tender boat to the tender dock, then through the terminal/parking lot to the excursion bus, then off the bus through that parking lot to the excursion dock and then onto the tour boat…and back.  The tour boats to Stingray City don’t leave from the same area as the cruise tenders arrive.

You can always leave them on the boat while you’re in the water.
