Future Cruise Credit Question

If you decide to cancel a cruise that you have partially paid for with FCC from a cancelled 2020 cruise do you lose those credits or can you use them to book another cruise that is later on?  Final payment not due until March. Thanks

Should edit to say planning on using for final payment that has not been made yet. Thanks
