Anything to do near the port (RCCL, PHILIPSBURG, ST. MAARTEN)?

Have an upcoming cruise in the next few weeks that has a stop at St. Maarten, not interested in the beach.

 

Signed up for a 2 hour driving tour and wondering if there is anything to do near the port and if it is safe?

 

Never been to this island before.

We usually take the water taxi to the town port and it's easy and safe to walk through town...lot's of shopping and restaurants/bars.

 

You could also get a taxi close by where you'll dock and go to Maho Beach to the Sunset Bar where there's great food and drinks to watch the planes land...Google this is amazing fun !!! We're not beach people either we can see the beach any day at home.

Yes, much to see and do near the port, which is on the Dutch side, St. Maarten. Here's helpful info on the many things to do in Philipsburg. Many folks start by heading to the Boardwalk.
