Great tour in Cartegena

We just returned from a partial canal transit on Emerald Princess. Because Grand Cayman was not yet open to cruisers, we overnighted in Cartegena. I had booked a tour with Dora the Explorer on the day we were originally to visit, and emailed her to switch to the day before when we got the news onboard that we would be there a day earlier. She was gracious and switched for us. Her tour was so very good. We went high on a hill to a monastery with a fabulous view of the city. We also did a short walking tour of the the old town inside the wall. Our group of 6 had an airconditioned minibus. I highly recommend Dora.

There is a great animal sanctuary and store right in the port. We did that the second day. There were peacocks roaming around everywhere putting on a show for us, flamingos, monkeys, lots of colorful birds. Don't skip it!
