How long can you wait before canceling specialty dining?

I want to book a dinner at a specialty restaurant, but don't want it to be on a gala night.  Can I simply reserve two nights and cancel the one I don't want when I get on board?

Absolutely.  You will get a credit on your account for that.  Just as an aside gala now dressy nights are nothing special food wise in my opinion.

I have purchased Club Orange.  I have looked at a couple gala night menus (on threads on this forum).  It looks like there are a couple special dishes (like surf and turf, or crab legs) on gala nights.  Nothing amazing, but a couple nicer options.  Is that your experience?

The Surf and Turf no longer has lobster - it's just shrimp now. Crab Legs are extra cost. But if you're willing to pay the premium, that's fine.

It likely depends on the itinerary.  If you are on a longer cruise you may see crab legs.  Surf and turf is on the menu on shorter cruises but it’s shrimp.  Roger Jett has a good website with current menus.  Here’s the link:

He puts a lot of effort into his website and when he does live from threads.  I don’t know how he sleeps.
