Question about Concierge Class cabins

The cabin prices for nicer upper deck verandah and concierge class cabin guarantee are basically the same on an upcoming Equinox cruise. I wonder though, would any concierge cabin have an obstructed view? Also, I know the perks now for concierge cabin aren't all that great, but is it worth it at least for the extra Captain's clubs points?

I've done a few cruises in concierge class, Including on Equinox (albeit pre covid).  I think they are mostly  on decks 9 and 10 with a few on decks 11 and 12.  There are no obstructed view cabins, but you do run the risk of ending up on deck 12 under the Ocean View.  Check the deck plans on the web site and you will get a good idea of what you might get (and compare it to the location of the assigned veranda).

As to the perks, the two extra points per night add up, especially on a longer cruise.  I feel it can be worth it, particularly when costs are comparable.   Not to mention it would make any Move Up offer a little cheaper as well.

For the other perks, we enjoy the embarkation lunch.  It is nice to avoid the cattle call at the buffet. The bottle of bubbly, meh, think the stuff they offer as you come on board.  Sometimes you can get the steward to substitute a bottle of red or white instead, if that is a preference.  The afternoon canapés are also hit or miss. My wife and I used them as a snack while getting ready.  It gave us a foundation for our pre dinner trip to the Martini Bar.

Depends which ship. On S and E ships, no size difference. On M ships, concierge cabins are larger than regular verandas. They are also in good locations.  Another nice feature is embarkation lunch in the MDR. Nice to avoid buffet.  Celebrity ships have few if any obstructioned views. None are really bad.  You might see the top of a lifeboat if you look down.  If you are near a bump out or angled veranda,  they are considered obstructed. Not really. If you look straight out, you don’t see obstruction. Look to the sides, you might see a bit of the bump out.  I wouldn’t worry about it on Celebrity ships.  Avoid cabins over or under lounges, casino, or the pool. They get noise.

We were in a deck 10 concierge cabin on the Equinox last week.  We were mid ship and no obstruction.

We enjoyed the embarkation lunch - much quieter than the buffet.  Our room attendant substituted a red wine for the sparkling wine and we got a cheese plate every afternoon instead of the afternoon surprise.  We were invited to the helipad for the sail away from Key West. We would book concierge again, but I prefer to pick my cabin location rather than risking being assigned a cabin I don't like.

Hope you enjoy your cruise!
