Teens getting on/off ship at HMC

Hello! Looking forward to our first cruise since Covid (August 13th on the Sunrise).

I have a quick question regarding teens. Are teens (14 year-olds) allowed to get on/off the ship when at HMC?  We dock at 7:30am and I rented a cabana. I'm an early bird and would like to get to our cabana as early as possible (to soak up every minute). My teens might have a hard time getting up and ready by that time.  Will the ship let them off without me to join me later that morning?  Same if they want to go back early....will they be allowed to board without a parent? I would never let them get off alone at other ports, but at the private island I'm comfortable with them getting off on their own and finding me at the cabana.

Also, if I need to go back to the ship to escort them off, does the HUB app texting work if someone is on the boat and someone is ashore (so they can let me know when they are ready to come ashore)?

Anyone under 16 must have an adult with them to leave the ship at a port.

  • Minor children 16 years of age and older may debark the ship in port without a parent or guardian. If the parent or guardian wishes to raise this age limit, they must contact the onboard Security department.
  • Minor children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult (18 years or older) within the same travel group in order to debark the ship in port.

I wouldn't count on that.  You need to be connected to the ship's wifi to use the hub app and it's pretty iffy from the beach at HMC.

I've never had it to work from land to ship.
