Mobile Phone SIM Card

Good evening from the UK

Our mobile phones do not have coverage for Canada. Can anyone please advise on purchasing a SIM card at the airport (we are arriving in Calgary). We will be in Canada for the first 10 days (Rocky Mountaineer) and then Alaska for 16 days (cruising north, Denali and then cruising south) and then Vancouver and Seattle. Any advice would be appreciated. Also if we do buy a SIM card in Canada will it also cover USA?
