Entering Portugal From US

It is very unclear whether you can enter Portugal from the US with just a CDC proof of vaccination. An EU proof of vaccination is acceptable. Anyone come from the US recently with only vaccination card and no testing?

Mandatory to present:
- A valid vaccination EU Digital COVID Certificate (with a complete vaccination schedule or with a complete vaccination schedule and a vaccine booster)
- Or a valid test or recovery EU Digital COVID Certificate,
- Or a valid vaccination certificate (with a complete vaccination schedule or a vaccine booster) or recovery certificate issued by a third country, under reciprocal conditions
- Or a negative RT-PCR Test (or similar NAAT test) - 72h before boarding, or
- Or a negative Laboratorial Rapid Antigen Test- 24h before boarding (according to the European Commission list) 

 

My understanding from reading these requirements is that we need to present a negative test.  The US is not included in the list of countries for valid vaccination certificates, under "reciprocal conditions".  I'm hoping this testing requirement is eliminated now that the US doesn't require it.

I was just on a cruise that had 2 ports in Portugal.  (The cruise originated in Barcelona.) We had to carry proof of vaccination but did not have to test to go ashore.

We flew in late May.  require proof of vaccination plus either a covid 19 test three days prior or a lab antigen test no more than 24 hours prior to flight time.

Our antigen test were not spot checked on arrival.  Some are.  
 

Not a big deal.  Antigen tests where we live are anywhere fro $15-30 USD.  And we were well aware of this prior to booking so we did not get caught paying exorbitant  airport testing prices.

 

We were happy to do the antigen test.  Last thing we would want is to spread the virus.  

 

It is much ado about nothing from our perspective.
