Retirement2016 Posted June 15, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 15, 2022 We will be boarding the Sky Princess on June 25th at QEII Terminal. We will be taking National Express to Southampton. Anyone have an approximate cost of the taxi fare from Southampton Coach Station to QEII Terminal? Do taxis accept credit card payment?
John Bull Posted June 15, 2022 #2 Share Posted June 15, 2022 Difficult to say following the recent huge fuel price increases. £10 would have been the max, but mebbe £12. Most Southampton taxis accept visa & mastercard, - ask before you board. JB 🙂
Retirement2016 Posted June 16, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted June 16, 2022 Thank you John Bull. 12 pounds is reasonable. I thought it might be higher due to increased fuel price. Here is California/San Diego, taxis and uber prices have doubled.

That's because over half the price in the UK is tax and duty. 😟 But the up-side of that is that any increase in the base price is consequently a much smaller percentage of the total price. A couple of months back about £1.35 per litre. Currently about £1.80 a litre - equates to around $8.50 per US gallon. It's only a couple of miles from So'ton coach station to QE 11 cruise terminal. We're planning on doing the same. June 15th, 2024. Would you mind telling us how your experience went? Was it easy to get a taxi, availability, and cost reasonable? How was National Express? Our departure date has 4 other ships, so around 19k people trying to do something similar. Thanks!

Our trip was cancelled due to no crew available on the first plane (back in 2022). Second, the incoming flight was diverted to Canada and our flight was delayed 12 hours.
