I'd suggest that you contact a travel insurance broker. They can sell policies from several different insurers, so there'd be a good selection to find a policy that works best for what you need/want. That includes Covid, but make sure you ask specifically how Covid is covered (medical care, trip cancellation, trip interruption, etc.). We use www.TripInsuranceStore.com - and we've had quite a few claims (unfortunately) but they've all been paid without any nonsense (fortunately!). Please CALL them to ask specifically. Insurance isn't something where you can easily rely upon online summaries; the fine print can *really* matter. They are very patient with explanations and also asking questions of you, to try to find the best policy fit. (They don't try to "upsell" if there isn't a good reason for a policy that might cost more, etc.) We've gotten policies from TIS that were from Travel Insured (the actual travel insurer). But the specific policy that works for us may not be what you are looking for. To get the best choice of different coverage types, you often need to start the insurance within 10-20 days of the FIRST payment (refundable deposit or other), but you only need to insure the deposit amount. You can then up the coverage as more payments are made. (It's 10-20 depending upon what state you live it. Insurance is regulated by the states.) dianeglezman Posted June 19, 2022 Author #4 Share Posted June 19, 2022 Thank you so much for the information and taking the time to be so thorough. I definitely will contact them and see what we can find. We had already taken out the insurance through Royal Carribean but everyone else was saying you need additional for such a long voyage with Covid going on. We are retirees in training also!
