Is TA telling the truth?

One other interesting (??) fact that shows how old I am, back in the days when just about every group booking was at a discount to the Ind Res rate Carnival gave us access to a special "GG" fare code. The "GG" stood for "guaranteed group" rate. We'd call the res office (this was way before the internet), identify ourselves and ask for the "GG" rate on such and such sailing. This allowed us access to the group price structure on any booking where there was a fare difference without having to go through the charade of booking a phantom group. And one plus was that the booking was handled as an Ind Res booking under that department's rules and regulations regarding fare changes, etc. Those were the days.

Those were the days.

FYI, I just made a group booking today for Thanksgiving week. Inside 4A cabins are $50 less than individual reservations' 4A cabins; and 6A and 8A were $100 less than the same categories in individual reservations. Even though it is a holiday week sailing, it still comes with two points for amenities.
