Upgrade offer on casino certificate / does it affect the starting bid amount?

Hi! received an upgrade offer to bid from our YC interior cabin to YC Deluxe suite.  Minimum bid is $715pp.  We received 30% off our current fare from a casino certificate.   Does anyone know if this 30% off affects the minimum bid for an upgrade or is it the same for everyone in a YC interior?  Thx...

PS: In 2019 we bid $350pp for the same upgrade and won, that is why I wonder if the 30% off affects the minimum bid...

I got the exact same offer after booking the 30% off my Vegas reward for the inside YC.  I kind of wondered the same thing. Probably the best bet would be to call MSC and ask for the casino concierge and let us know the answer. I’m just guessing you would not get the 30% off the bid because it’s a separate company. But you could always upgrade to a YC balcony probably and you would definitely get the 30% off that price I bet. I keep checking the balconies to see if they’ve gone down in price but they haven’t for my cruise.  A little too costly for me. Plus I don’t know what you lose if you do that for example I have $200 onboard credit etc.

No, we have upgraded on a casino voucher before with no issues or changes to terms. The upgrade system treats you as a full-paying guest and you simply upgrade as normal. We've been successful on two occasions, both with vouchers doing this and friends who did not have vouchers were offered the same starting bid prices.

Just to extend this answer, based on experience since... if you receive a Complimentary Cruise Voucher under one of the sporadic promotions they run (I don't know about the ones people get for reaching points thresholds onboard), you won't get access to the bidgrade system on those sailings - although you can just pay to upgrade (circa £650pppw from regular Balc to YC Int for example). On a 1/3 off voucher, you can use bidgrade.
