Are P&O still issuing boarding times based on decks ?

The following is from an email received today for our Britannia cruise in a couple of weeks:

Please arrive at the terminal at your allocated time, as stated on your e‑ticket/boarding pass so that we can ensure your embarkation is as smooth and comfortable as possible. If you arrive earlier, you may be asked to leave the terminal area and return at the allocated time. Embarkation times are allocated by cabin section and Peninsular Club tier status. If you are a Caribbean, Baltic or Ligurian tier guest or you’re booked in a Suite, we have accounted for this when allocating your embarkation time.

Standard e-mail from P&O.

In March, we had a 15:30 embarkation time. Turned up at 14:00, and no problems at all.

I appreciate that things have moved on since then, but people trying to board at 12:00 with an allocated time of 15:00 will cause congestion.

Personally,  we think that, as long as the first two hours of boarding have elapsed,  turning up an hour or so early is not unreasonable.  Tin hat on !
