Booking 2 rooms for 3 passengers - Can we change rooms between passengers?

I'm booking a cruise for my parents, and I'll be going with them solo.

They'll be staying in a room together, and I'll be staying in a room by myself.

I have a VIFP offer I want to book two passengers on, but I have to be one of the passengers to use the offer.

I would be booking my mother and I in one room, and my father solo in the other.

Would it be OK to switch rooms to my fathers, and have them occupy the other room?

Thanks for any help.

Get a PVP if you don’t have one. They can extend the offer to two cabins.

We did this for our summer cruise. We were going to book husband and child 1 in one cabin and me and child 2 in a second. Our PVP booked it the way we wanted, with the kids in their own cabin while still getting the VIFP rate.

Yes, people do this all the time. Both guests will need to go to Guest Services and wait in line to get new room keys.

Some people book 1 adult and 1 kid in each cabin if they only want Cheers for 1. Others book 2 cabins using each spouse's VIFP number to bring friends or family. Guest Services will issue new cabin keys.

If we are booked in 2 cabins with casino offers that include OBC, will we still be able to change people around?  I read somewhere that if we tried to move people, we'd lose the OBC.  I don't know if this is true or not as I haven't ever booked a casino offer before.

If we can't change the cabins, can we just get a key to the other cabin so we can sleep where we want?  Thanks.

I just asked, and was given new room key only. Didn’t want to risk messing up Cheers or OBC. We are Gold, new key card was Blue with no charging ability.

Booking with friends and OBC is also routinely done. Those would need to switch S&S cards with appropriate folio numbers. Otherwise, should be able to carefully set up credit cards to back correct folios.
