M228 11-15th September

Just in case anyone on this cruise, either as a stand alone short vacation, or part of a longer sector, and disembarking in Southampton on the 15th September,  most UK train operating companies and Network Rail (who essentially operate and maintain the signals and track) are on strike.   To be honest (as someone who is supposed to be returning to Scotland), it's turning into a nightmare.   Whilst no indication what - if any - trains will run that day, it's expected to be next to none.

 

Queen Mary 2 is the only ship in Southampton that day, so one saving grace is that it's only potentially her passengers that might be involved, but for anyone affected, it would be worth making Plans B - Z.
