Viking Insurance

Hi - I recently booked our first Viking river cruise and was surprised by the price of insurance from Viking as compared to other carriers. Does anyone know why the Viking insurance is so high? Is there really a benefit from using Viking over another carrier?

I can't speak for Viking, by my TA will look at several different providers and we choose the one that has the best policy for us. We don't always choose Avalon's, and have had no problem sailing with them but dealing with a different policy carrier.

 

I would think Viking's is the same, just check what is included and what isn't before deciding so you have the right one for you.

In general you're better off with a 3rd party insurer.  As @Daisi just mentioned, you need to compare coverage.  One big thing to consider is whether your health insurance offers coverage outside of the US.
