I have 75 free wifi min for the Joy,  I only need to check in with family while away.

How do I use the 75 free wifi for calls and or text messaging?

Do I need to log off every time I am done with a call or checking my text messages?

Once I log back in will it show the text that were sent to me or calls missed while wifi is off?

Thank you all for your help.

When you are connected to the ship’s wi-fi, and your phone’s wi-fi setting is engaged, you are using data.   So yes.  You will need to be cognizant of the state of your phone and manage it.  A quick, one-switch method is “airplane mode”.  That will also disengage your cellular data but you likely would find getting a decent cellular signal challenging anyway.
