Help!!!!!Avis at Ft. Lauderdale Airport

We are renting a car from Avis at the Ft. Lauderdale airport 2 days prior to our cruise. Is there a drop off location at the pier in Ft. Lauderdale to drop off the car, or do we have to return it to the airport? Does Avis provide a shuttle back to the pier once we drop off the car??? How far apart is the airport and the pier in miles??? I know someone out there can help me with this!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the help.:)

There are no car rental drop off facilities at the pier (port Everglades). The airport is next to the cruiseport, a ten minute cab ride away. Skip the shuttle, grab a cab, no hassles, quicker.;)
