Alaska 2023 Dawes Glacier

Any thoughts on why at this early date the Dawes Glacier- Endicott Arm port would already have been cancelled on a scheduled September 16 Bliss departure from Seattle?

For those who have visited this port on NCL Alaska schedules is this a significant loss?

Thanks for any thoughts.

Dawes Glacier/Endicott Arm are both part of the same glacier system that you cruise through.  It is not a port where you can get off the ship.

That late in the Season, it might be very difficult for the ship to navigate depending on the number of ice bergs and how big they are.  They can create real damage to a ship if you hit one.  The Sun was out of service several weeks this past Season to repair the damage from an ice berg.

Are you sailing into Glacier Bay on this cruise??

Enjoy your cruise

Really disappointed about this. Just wondering if the cruise will still be worth it? Are there normally smaller excursions out of Juneau to a glacier, wonder if they'll extend the time in port because it's currently 1:30 when we leave.
