Mobile departures, where to stay night before?

We drove down from Chicago and stayed at the Hampton Inn Downtown on Royal street.

We parked at the Hampton lot the first night and used spot hero to find parking downtown for the cruise. Then took an uber for $5 to the port.

I think the garage was $8 a day.

We just cruised out of Mobile in September. We stayed at Fort Conde Inn and loved it. The room cost a little more than I usually pay but they offered free parking for the entire 10 days we were gone.  I think we paid around $140 but free parking was the game changer. Only about a 4-5 minute walk to the port and we could see the ship from the balcony. You can drop off luggage after 10am then go park or site see until check in time.
