New to Azamara, is there any ballroom dancing on the Azamara Pursuit? Any info on the ship is welcome.

We have sailed with many other cruise lines but have never sailed with a small ship like Azamara before. We are considering a South America cruise with Azamara Pursuit. We enjoy ballroom dancing and we are always able to do ballroom dancing on the big ships with other cruises we have been on. We can see there is a "Living Room" lounge where there is a dance floor, and we noticed there is a "Cabaret Lounge" where you watch the performances. Just wondering after the nightly performances, is the Cabaret Lounge used for dancing at all with either live band music or music by a DJ? There are 2 overnight stays in the itinerary, wonder if Azamara still have those events that take you off the ship for an evening experience. I heard that they might have stopped that because of Covid and they just bring a local group of performer onboard instead. How is the food, service, entertainment and any information is welcome. Thank you in advance.

We also love ballroom dancing. Compered to other companies Azamara does not provide so many possibilities.

In Livingroom is a live band playing. Some of them are able to play music for dancing, but more for Latin dancing. We usually speak with them and get some music for dance within an evening. From 11 pm there is a DJ. You can ask for your favourite music, maybe he has matching files.

At  Cabaret lounge unfortunately no dance music.

Azamazig evening should be back now. You can find it on your cruise planner where you book shore excursions.

I have seen times when the Azamara orchestra plays for some time in the Cabaret lounge before shows for guests to ballroom dance. and it will be advertised in the daily program.
I would speak early on with the cruise director to see if this could be added to the program.  If they receive a few requests, it may be added.

Sadly this took a hit when the entertainment was revamped a little while ago and they got rid of the ballroom dancers from the cast. Sometimes they have them back as guest entertainers who may stay for two cruises (end of one and beginning of the next) and they might do lessons, but it's limited.
