Riu vs beach bar on Surfside Beach

Going to depend on what you're looking for.  If the AI has your needs met and would be less expensive than a separate beach bar, then that's for you. RIU gets mixed reviews from saty vacation folks.  Surfside Beach is next to the airport, although Reflextions is a nice place.  Lot of good spots on Palm Beach..

Reflextions has been closed for months. They have been posting for weeks that they will be open soon, but who knows. Everything happens on island time. Surfside Beach Bar is a little past Reflextions.  The chairs are free as long as you order drinks. It would definitely be a lot cheaper than Riu, but the water is a lot nicer at Riu. The water at Surfside Beach Bar is mostly seaweed.

I have received word that Reflextions hopes to open next week.

I have just messaged them on FB, they are open, I have reserved a beach clam for our visit late December.
Great place to spend the day.
