Dining times for MDR - worried

Hi all. I’ve done 15 or so cruises and thought I had this figured out but with no travel in 4 years maybe things have really changed. 
 

Going on Odessey next week. I chose my time dining, I like to eat around 530-545 (lots of reasons but I don’t think they matter). I tried to book my times tonight and it said that my time dining doesn’t start until 645. Is this correct? That’s horrible! The earliest I could book is 715 all week. 😔  I would have booked 600pm early seating if I had known. Why would they do that? Where could I go for help to change it? Thanks for any help.

Yes, there are many threads on this.

 

The idea is that the entire MDR is used for early traditional, then as and when tables come free they open up MTD. Officially at 6:45 but it can be earlier if early diners are done before then.

 

But yes, if you want guaranteed early dining, you need to book traditional. Or go to the Windjammer.

You could call whomever you booked with and see if you could change it. Not sure if that's possible since you're sailing in a week. If not see if you can change to traditional dining early seating once onboard

You could try to change to traditional dining for 530 by emailing rcldining@rccl.com. then once onboard go to MDR early in the day to confirm.
