NCL Escape Cabin Question

Can anyone tell me what the “empty” space is on the deck plan is between cabins 5740 and 5742?

an area were you can get on and off the ship in port of call depending on the port. not used all of the time is mostly empty 

 

when i was on a joy which is similar to escape they was one port were the gangway was on deck 5 instead of the usually deck 4 area
