Question about my non-refundable deposit

I think I know this answer, but thought I'd put it out there to confirm.

 

I have $960CAD deposited on a cruise that only requires a $530CAD deposit (was originally booked on a 14-nighter and transfered due to Covid to 9-nighter).

 

Personal events are overcoming us and rather than moving to a different itinerary and paying $100 each change fee, we are thinking of canceling altogether. 

 

I understand we'd lose $530CAD, but would they refund us the rest of our $960CAD (so $430)?

You should lose $110 per person and the rest would come back as an FCC, that will be valid for 12 months.

 

I'm assuming the original booking was NRD and just because you moved it during Covid does not change the fact that the full amount is still considered non refundable.

We will have to find a way to use that deposit somehow. It's a lot to forfeit.
