Hi Everybody. We are looking to book this cruise. It's a bucket list holiday for us, coming all the way from Australia. Is there a better side of the boat to be on for views. It looks like the ship will be the American Symphony or Serenade. Are there any cabin recommendations. Thanks for your help.

Based on the boat names, I think this should be on the American Cruise Lines board rather than here.

We did the equivalent cruise on the American Duchess in August 2021. Since it was summer, we chose the port side of the boat so we would have sun in the AM and shade in the PM. Side of the boat didn't seem to matter beyond that.

For much of the Mississippi River, the east bank is definitely more interesting than the west (high bluffs vs lowland).  Southbound, you'd want a cabin on the port side.  (But you may not be spending as much time on your  balcony as you think -- most viewing is best up top, where side doesn't matter.)

Thanks very much. Yes, we will be up on top, but hoping to get a few quiet moments on our verandah as well.
