Port of Miami parking question, Garage or Lot 2

[CM Cruise]

First timers to the Miami port.  We are doing a Spring Break cruise on the Celebration and I was concerned about a long line to pay and exit the parking garage on our return home.  Would it be better if we can find a spot in the open parking lot "Lot 2" on Google maps?

 

Appreciate any info from the Miami experts.  Thanks.

The port will likely take the choice away from you....they seem to decide which lots will be open and available.

agree ... this is a safety factor .... POM (and other ports) don't keep all the garages 'open' 24x7 but will only open/staff on a day they know a cruise has need to access the garage. No cruise in or out that day the associated garage is locked down . . .
